    'Bigg Stories'

'Bigg Stories' is a project created with NE1 to create new environments for young families in the Bigg Market in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

The project comprised of an interactive window installation design and a PR campaign event to attract young families and businesses, whilst including government bodies and NE1.

    Project description:

"Bigg Stories is an interactive playful window installation aimed at families with young children. The idea of using storytelling came from interviewing Theresa O’Hara who worked for several companies, including the Chronicle, at the Bigg Market when the area was a thriving business community. The typewriter represents the documentation of stories both in terms of news stories but also the retelling of historical moments in time. Aesthetically, the botanical theme grew from the idea of rejuvenation, introducing a ‘new seed of life’ into the area. Building 41-43 Groat Market was chosen due to the architectural floral detailing above the window. The installation will be launched as part of Heritage Open Days and will stimulate interest and conversation around the revamp of the Bigg market. A media campaign and launch event will attract attention from the invitees and the public and will ensure Bigg Stories will become a desirable ‘go to location’ for future generations."

This project led me to being selected to exhibit in the Baltic 39 which took place in June 2019.
